1. The most important points at a glance

CanaMe only stores settings locally on your device. “Play with friends” uses Apple Game Center; data processing is handled by Apple. Your data will not be passed on to us for advertising or analysis purposes. Your rights include information, deletion, objection, and more.

Data storage

Important: All data is stored exclusively on the device. As app developers, we have no access to your data. Third parties have no access to your data.

The responsible person is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data.

3. Data collection in this app

3.1 Types of data processed

Local settings: Settings you configure within the app (e.g., rules, team names, game mode) are stored exclusively on your device and are not transmitted to us or to third parties.

Game data: Game progress and scores are processed locally on your device during use. We do not collect or store this data on our own servers.

3.2 Data related to “Play with Friends” (Game Center)

If you use the “Play with Friends” feature, the app accesses Apple Game Center. Apple’s privacy policies apply in this case. Apple processes, among other things:

  • your Game Center identifier (Apple ID)
  • your display name (if set by you)
  • data related to invitations and matches (e.g., who was invited, game status)

We do not receive any personal data from you through the use of Game Center. Processing is carried out by Apple as an independent controller. The applicable privacy policy is Apple’s Privacy Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy .

3.3 Legal basis

The processing of personal data is based on:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (Consent): where you have consented, for example, to the use of Game Center
  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (Performance of a contract): where processing is necessary to provide the app and its functions
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Legitimate interests): only to the extent technically necessary (e.g., handling via Apple), taking your interests into account

No data processing for advertising purposes takes place by us.

3.4 Data storage and security

  • Local settings: remain stored on your device until you uninstall the app or delete the data.
  • Game Center: retention and deletion of data processed by Apple through Game Center are governed by Apple’s policies.
  • On our side: since we do not store personal data on our own servers in connection with the app, no retention period applies on our side. If you contact us via email, the data provided will be retained only as long as necessary to process your request or as required by statutory retention obligations.

4. Data transfers and encryption

4.1 Data transfers

  • No transfer of data to third parties
  • No transfer of data to the app developer
  • No transfer of data to advertising networks or analytics services

4.2 Encryption

  • Data transmission: encrypted via Apple iCloud (TLS/SSL)
  • Data storage: encrypted in Apple iCloud
  • Local storage: encrypted by iOS/iPadOS

5. Your rights under the GDPR

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You have the right to request information about personal data concerning you that is being processed.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You have the right to request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You may request deletion of your data under the statutory conditions.
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): You may request restriction of processing under certain conditions.
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): You have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format (where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means).
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): You may object to processing where it is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Withdrawal of consent: If processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected.

5.8 Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR)

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR. The competent supervisory authority in Germany depends on your place of residence or workplace.

6. Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy to ensure it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services.

7. Advertising with Google AdMob

This app uses Google AdMob, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for displaying advertisements within the app.

AdMob enables the display of advertisements inside the app. In this process, technical device information and usage data may be processed in order to provide advertising, measure ad performance, and ensure service stability.

Data that may be processed:

  • Device information
  • IP address
  • App interactions
  • Usage data
  • Diagnostic and performance data
  • Ad impression and interaction data

Depending on the user’s region and consent choices, personalized or non-personalized advertisements may be displayed. The app uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage user consent preferences. Processing is carried out by Google and may also take place on servers outside the European Union.

8. Privacy rights for users in the United States

Residents of certain U.S. states, including California, may have additional privacy rights regarding their personal information under applicable privacy laws.

Depending on the applicable law, users may have the right to:

  • request access to personal information
  • request deletion of personal information
  • request correction of inaccurate information
  • opt out of certain types of data sharing or advertising activities

CanaMe does not sell personal information. Advertising services provided by Google AdMob may process device and usage data in accordance with Google’s privacy policies.
